Just finished week 3 of internship, 13 more weeks to go. Hwaiting!!!!! Sue CHing!!!!

So… it’s been hard truthfully, so much exigencies. so much work. This week is going to be the worst, there is going to be a banquet on sunday with 120 covers just for the dinner service. For lunch, there’ll be 60 covers.

I might not survive this coming week, but pray to god I will have the strength and speed to finish everything that will be required to do. I’d be fortunate to be able to write about it in the next post I hope.

Hey people sorry for not updating for a long time. I will just update on where I spend roughly 63 hours a week at.

Known to be one of the best in the world, this is what it looks inside the Troisgros kitchen.

The furthest end there is where all the dressing of dishes are done, then next is the hot zone where sauces are made, and meats are cooked. Then it’s the cold zone where fish is prepared and the starters station which is where I work.

At the furthest end on the right is the patisserie.

Every start of the week, the restaurant receives 5 hunted wild rabbits.

That’s all for now.

Strong winds outside. Noisy shutters. Don’t really feel safe to go out. I woke up near noon. Going to be alone for 2 days. Feel happy and sad at the same time for having this precious weekend.

Happy, cause I can finally get all the rest i need after a week’s of hard work. Sad, because I know I would be all alone again in this apartment with no internet!!!! argh!!! I hope that it will come on as soon as possible.

The only highlights of my day/ week were being able to speak to my mom, brother and my dad.

I recall from one phone call with my mom. I teared up upon answering the phone and hearing her voice. I was so glad to hear her voice. I wanted to tell her everything, but held back a lot on the details on how hard it is for me here. Trying to sound okay, I chatted as naturally as I could. She was very worried about my current living conditions, but I tried my best to convince her that everything is normal.

For the past four nights, I have not been sleeping well. I close my eyes, but I don’t enter into sleep. So one of the nights, I finally heated up some milk and it did the trick. I was finally able to sleep soundly.

Thinking too much, were one of the reasons of the insomnia.

I kept going over my new daily routine over and over. I guess I am still unsure, whether I can keep on going. But, I can’t say or know yet. It’s only been a week. I hope with time, I can finally get used to the new system.

And no, I am not really scared now of being in the kitchen. I am scared of my life outside the kitchen. I am scared of being alone. Leaving and returning to an empty apartment everyday isn’t the kind of life I’d like to lead.

One week before we finished our academic year, the whole class went on a study trip to a vineyard in Beaujolais. It was quite a memorable outing, as it was our last one together before each and everyone of us left for internship.

So the trip on a whole was very enjoyable one. We learned a lot, and of course drank as much as we could too. We left school at 12.30 , it was a very light day as we only had coffee lesson in the morning. Compared to other days, we would had probably examinations or small tests that would affect our admission to the second year.

On the van, some people slept all the way while the others took the opportunity to take silly pictures.

After about 1 hour, we finally arrived to this wine museum.

Was very excited to see these three bottles. Just look at that price!!!! RM 1000 for a bottle of wine!!! Chateau Mouton Rothschild is expensive because they feature different designs  by famous artists for their labels each year.

Wanna wish all my comrades good luck for the next 4 months during their internship and we’ll reunite next year!!!!

Most of the photos above belong to Yi Chang…so big thanks to him.
